Notes
WIS-42 used to go from the Illnois border (a continuation of [at the time] IL-42) to Howards Grove, along the road which is present-day WIS-32. The number was changed after World War II to commemorate the 32nd Infantry Division, and later, 42 was re-routed southeast (along the former 32 routing). See Wisconsin Highways for a wealth of historical information about the road.
